Class Experience

I have a BA in English, MA in Teaching, and I am a NYS certified English Teacher with 10+ years of classroom teaching experience.
Reading: approximately 135 pages
Kahoot (online trivia game)
Google Form
Class discussion in Outschool Classroom: initial post and response to classmates
Catching Fire novel (print or digital version is fine)
Weekly handouts will be provided and can be printed or completed digitally
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
No live meetings, and an estimated 4+ hours per week outside of class.
This novel is most appropriate for students 13+. The competition in the book, (the "Hunger Games") is one in which children are placed in an arena and kill one another until only the victor remains. Some of the descriptions are rather graphic. There is also a great deal of other sensitive material, including loss of relatives, starvation, torture, war, etc. A full parental guide can be found here:
