FLEX Cantonese Immersion: Social Emotional Skills and Learning

In this 4-week prerecorded course, leaners will learn to explore and identify their emotions, ways to manage them; growth mindset; kindness and conflict resolution.  Materials will be delivered mainly in Cantonese, with support in English and Jyutping (romanization system for Cantonese).  This course is best for learners who understand Cantonese in a daily conversation, and support from grown-up helpers who have basic understanding of Jyutping.

CLASS STRUCTURE:
- In this FLEX class, there will be NO live meetings.  Each week, learners will be introduced with the weekly topic 
through seeing, hearing and speaking via my prerecorded videos.  The learning materials will also be repeated and reinforced through PDF review to optimize retention. 
- Expected learning time: 30 minutes per week.  
- All modules of the week will be posted on Outschool classroom discussion board every Monday at 1 p.m. (EST timezone). 

TOPICS:
Week 1: Emotions: Identify how we are feeling and what we can do to manage them.
Week 2: Growth mindset: practice positive self talk and resilience
Week 3: Kindness: Understand what kindness means, how we model it through our actions and encourage kind habits
Week 4: Conflict resolution: how to deal with conflict step by step

LANGUAGE USE :
- Instruction will be given mainly in Cantonese, with support in English and Jyutping 
- Best learning experiences for: Learners who is able to understand Cantonese in daily conversations

The benefit of FLEX class: Learners can complete the class materials according to their own schedule, and they can review it as many times as they wish during the course period.  I will be available to answer any questions and provide feedback through the Outschool classroom within 24 to 48 hours on weekdays.
