Introduction to crochet hook sizes, yarn weight and how they can impact your crochet learning journey. Techniques: Slip knot, chainLesson 2Bonus Video: Making Rows using single crochetThis is an optional video for learners who have tried crochet and would like to take it to the next step. Chain and making rows using a single crochet.Week 2Lesson 3Crochet a bookmark: Turning a chain into a row using a single crochetChaining, and the importance of counting in crochet. We learn how to add a row. Techniques: Chain, Turning work, and Introduction of single crochet Mastering the single crochet. We try our very first quick project. We explore rows, turning work and counting. Project: Bookmark. Techniques: Chain, turning work and single crochet.Week 3Lesson 4Crochet a Mug Rug / Doll Size blanketDoll size blanket, or Mug Rug Project: Doll Blanket (coaster)We will learn how to crochet a blanket or coaster -- a small rectangle. We will learn how our skills from our earlier weeks help to create a mini blanket. Techniques: Chain, turning work and single crochet.Lesson 5Finishing your Mug Rug with a border stitchLearn how to finish projects off, tying ends and adding a border stitch.Week 4Lesson 6Crochet Mini HatsProject: Mini Hat. Techniques: Chain, Single Crochet, back loop onlyLesson 9Twisting and finishing the headbandLearn how to use a tapestry needle or crochet hook to finish the headband and add a twistWeek 6Lesson 10Crochet a jellyfish plushFinal week, final project -- Stuffy time! This week we learn how to read a pattern. Giving you the tools to explore new crochet projects all on your own. Project: We will crochet a jelly fish. Techniques: Chain, turning work, back loop only, single crochet, and decreasing.
