Class Experience

US Grade Preschool
Come along with me and explore my beautiful backyard! This FLEX class is perfect for preschoolers needing a flexible schedule-there are NO live classes.

Over the course of a month, we will explore a variety of things, as well as do some hands on projects from our own homes. We will be exploring frogs, tadpoles, a waterfall, a frogbog, snails, ladybugs, gardening, chickens, and more!

This class is designed to allow your preschooler to explore the science happening all around in the backyard! We will incorporate math in the weekly handouts, as well as other activities to help your child enjoy our backyard findings. There are NO live classes.

Syllabus

4 Lessons
over 4 Weeks
Lesson 1:
Waterfall & Frog Bog
In this lesson, students will take a tour of the waterfall and the frog bog. We will observe the frogs and tadpoles in both locations in both the daytime and at night time (hint: they're very loud at night!), as well as take a peek at the Koi fish! Students will receive a frog themed packet for exploration throughout the week (includes coloring, tracing, counting, and other activities). We will also hunt for snails of various sizes!
Lesson 2:
Chickens
Chickens! This week, learners will explore backyard chickens. We'll collect their eggs, observe the various colors, talk about how fresh eggs don't have to go in the fridge, feed them a few different things, and watch them interact with each other. I will make a brownie recipe with my eggs, and post the recipe for the children to make their own batch of brownies (my favorite way of using math!).
Lesson 3:
Gardening
This week, students will explore gardening. The students will observe me planting a seed for a familiar vegetable, and discuss what a plant needs to grow. We will also take a walk through my backyard and observe many different types of plants-including those that grow IN my waterfall and bog, and discuss WHY plants growing in the waterfall are a good thing.
Lesson 4:
Flowers
This week will be all about the flowers. We'll hunt around the yard for different flowers, and observe their sizes and shapes. We will also hunt for bugs on the flowers, and release ladybugs near the rose bushes to eat the aphids.

Other Details
