Class Experience
We will learn more American Sign Language in this 4 week course. Each week, we will learn a different set of signs and master them. On Mondays, an instructional video will be posted. I will demonstrate the new signs we will learn that week. I will go over them slowly and explain how to them, as I am doing them. Students will need to watch the video and practice the signs at home. Students will need to record a video of themselves doing the signs and either post it under the instruction video OR send the video to me privately. On Wednesdays, a game video will be posted. I will do a video signing the signs we learned that week, without saying what I am signing. Each learner will need to write down their answers and either post them to the thread OR send their answers privately to me. All work should be submitted by Fridays. In this four week class, we will continue to learn American Sign Language. It is highly suggested that you complete parts 1 through 4 of beginners and parts 1 through 3 of intermediate, before taking this course. We will learn more signs from subjects we have already talked about. We will also be combining signs that we have learned in previous courses to create more structured sentences and conversations. Our schedule will be: Week 1: Around the House and Gestures Week 2: People and Pronouns Week 3: Review Beginners Part 4 Week 4: Food Each week we will learn new signs and review previously learned material. Each student will have ample time to learn and memorize the signs. By the end of this course, each student will be able to sign about around the house, people, food, and a review of parts 3 and 4 of intermediate. We will review concepts from previous courses and we will combine those signs to create small conversation and structure sentences.
