Class Experience

Students will learn and establish a daily routine for talking about the calendar in Arabic and English. This will include basic math and literacy concepts in both languages.
I have completed 15 post secondary credits in the Arabic language at North Central University and The University of Minnesota. I have been teaching basic Arabic reading and writing skills for 10 years . I taught Arabic to children in grades Pre-K through grade 2 at a charter school for four years as well as a private school that I founded for seven years. I regularly meet with Arabic tutors to increase my skills and knowledge in this subject as well as to gain experience with various spoken dialects. I currently speak and teach Modern Standard Arabic.
No homework will be assigned for this class. I only encourage students and families to welcome and include the Arabic language by making connections in their daily lives as often as possible while watching, listening to and participating in the world around them.
I will provide optional worksheets that students can complete each week.
Learner progress will be assessed through student posts and videos as the teacher sees and hears that the student has become independent in reciting the information learned during the calendar routine. Also by the worksheets that students share to demonstrate their understanding of learned concepts. Parents can also assess their own child's progress as they become more independent during their participation during the class videos as well as how they are using learned information outside of class.
No live meetings, and maybe some time outside of class.
As students may require assistance to record and share video posts, it is important that the student is the only person present on all video posts shared with the class.
