Class Experience
Class Experience This class will cover The Hobbit reading comprehension questions and full discussion. There will be games, slides, and video clips to keep learners engaged and having fun! While learners do not need to have any prior experience, it is expected that students can read and complete assignments during the week. Students will enjoy the novel, build vocabulary and reading comprehension skills while having fun!!!
Homework will be assigned. All assignments will be individual, and the homework will take between 2-4 hours per week.
Students will be given weekly vocabulary and reading comprehension questions based on the chapters covered per week.
No live meetings, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
The Hobbit has mythical creatures, battles, and magical references. Characters will die in the novel. There is also mention of drinking alcohol. I've taught this novel for years, and we do not do a deep dive into the drinking or magical references.
A copy of The Hobbit by Tolkien is required. The curriculum for the course will be provided; however, your student will benefit greatly if this can be printed out for them to complete the assignments.
