(Flex) 3rd Grade Math Interactive Journal With A Certified Teacher (PDF Format)

NOTE: Recordings will be anywhere from 45 minutes to 1 hr 30 minutes, depending on the content for that week. In the last week, the videos might be less lengthy since we've covered a lot by then. Students will also need to print out their pages at home to follow with me in the video. There are about 25-30 pages to print out each week

If students don’t have access to a printer there will be a digital PDF version for students to download and they may use Kami or any other program that allows them to write their answers on.

I will guide the students through a recorded video on the entire journal to ensure that students know how to solve the problems. Students will have the opportunity to pause and play the video as we are going through the lesson. Once done with the guided journal they will have an opportunity to work on Quizizz where they will reinforce what they learned.

In this class, I will teach students how to create their own interactive math journals that they can use for future references. We will cover all taught objectives of third-grade and ensure that students understand each lesson as the weeks go by. I love this journal because it is extremely interactive and students will enjoy doing all the activities that they're supposed to do in the journal. Students will also interact through "Quizizz" and we will play interactive games to help the student improve his/her knowledge lesson skills. It is very important that students learn all 3rd grade math concepts in a fun and interactive way and that is exactly what learners will be doing in this class.

***This is a flex course which means that we do not meet live, but there will still be interaction as students will interact with all their classmates through the discussions, videos that we will get to watch from each other when building a certain section, and responding to each other in discussions.

 Topics in the interactive journal are as followed:

Week 1: Multiplication Using Arrays, Understanding Division 20, Multiplication and Division Word Problems, Elements of Multiplication and Division, Properties of Multiplication, Relating Division to Multiplication

Week 2: Multiplication and Division Within 100, Two-step Word Problems, Patterns of Arithmetic, Rounding Numbers, Addition and Subtraction Within 1000, Multiplying One-digit Numbers by Multiples

Week 3: Properties of Fractions, Representing Fractions on a Number Line, Comparing Fractions, Telling Time, Measurements,
Bar Graphs 

Week 4: Collecting Data and Creating Line Plots, Understanding Area, Measuring Area, Finding the Area of a Rectangle, Perimeters, Categories of Shapes, Expressing Parts of Shapes as Fractions 

By the end of the class, students should know all objectives and be ready to be successful in 3rd grade. Everyone always assumes that math is complicated but it doesn't have to be. I hope to see you in class soon!
