PLESE NOTE: This class does NOT have any live meetings! All interactions will be through messaging and pre-recorded video lessons! Come join me in a 1-on-1 flexible schedule guitar class! In this class, we will work together to learn and master all things guitar. Our lessons will be through pre-recorded videos, that are specifically tailored to your student and their playing ability. Each class will be different, depending on the student! This class is perfect for someone who has been eager to begin their guitar playing journey, but have not yet had time in their schedule to take a class. Some things we will learn: - Parts of a guitar -How to properly hold a guitar -How to tune a guitar -Various chords such as Em, Am, D, G, C, etc. -How to read tabs -How to read chord sheets -Strumming patterns A possible schedule could look like: Week 1: -Student and teacher sending intro videos -A video showing your student the parts of the guitar and the proper way to hold the guitar -A video showing how to play the chords E minor and A minor Week 2: -Feedback on week 1 lesson -Video of how to read tabs- first song Old McDonald or Happy Birthday -First strumming Pattern Week 3: -Feedback on week 2 lesson -Video showing student how to play the D chord -Video showing student how to read a chord sheet using Em,Am, and D- Only Human (Jonas Brothers) Week 4: -Feedback on week 3 lesson -Video showing student several new strumming patterns -New tab- Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Please reach out if you have any questions, or wonder if this class will be a good fit for you learner.

Hello Outschool Community!
My name is Sarah Trommer and I am 27 years old. I currently live in Houston, Texas with my husband and new son. Prior to that I lived in Florida and Louisiana as I am a military spouse and we have to move every couple of years!
On Outschool, I am excited to be able to offer classes all about music, songwriting, and guitar.
If you can't tell, I am a lover of all things music! I am self taught in guitar, ukulele, and piano and love making music through songwriting too. Music has always been such an important part of my life, as it has helped me have a way of expressing my thoughts and feelings. My hope in teaching with Outschool is that students will be able to have the same opportunity for expression that I was able to have growing up.
Although I have no educational background in teaching or music, it has not stopped me from sharing what I love with others. My style of teaching is not always traditional or by the book, but we always have fun and learn in fun and unique ways.
Over the last several years, I have given music lessons to a number of students and have loved every minute of it! I believe it is my job, as a teacher, to create a fun and safe environment for students. I will always strive to make my classroom fun, safe, and engaging for your students.
