Students will be able to:

Write and evaluate expressions.
Write and solve one step equations.
Solve real world problems involving rates, unit rates and proportions.
Solve real world problems involving percents.
Credentialed Middle and High School Math Teacher with 10 years teaching experience in grades 6 through 10 math.

I started my career teaching middle school math and then moved up to high school. I love teaching middle school after having taught high school because I have a very clear idea of where they are headed and exactly what they need to succeed in their first years of high school math.
Practice assignments will be provided for each topic and will be strongly encouraged but not required. All assignments will be self grading or have answer keys provided so students have instant feedback on their accuracy.

2 video lessons per week about 20 minutes each and 2 practice assignments about 30 minutes each. Approximately 2 hours per week.
Pen, paper and calculator. PDF’s of the lesson notes may be provided for learners to print for class but they will not be required.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Learners will be able to submit their work to me if they would like personal feedback. Otherwise, assessments will be informal based on their participation in the classroom posts.
No live meetings, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
We may use Blooket as a practice game, Nearpod for interactive lessons or Flipgrid for more student to student or student to teacher interaction. Students will NOT need to log in or create an account for any of these tools. I will send them private links to access each material if/when it is used.
