I was a brick and mortar teacher for 20 years before becoming an Outschool teacher. I've worked with every age group from birth to graduation. My favorite subjects are English and Social Studies. I taught elementary school for a few years before moving up to the middle school setting where I taught English and Social Studies in a pod setting for 3 years before becoming exclusively a social studies teacher. I love Flat Stanley and what he has to offer and can't wait to share it with all of you.
In between classes, they will have to read the Flat Stanly book that we are reading that month. They will also have to complete their pen pal project and letter, mail it, and receive theirs in the mail.
There will be a welcome packet attached to the first class with the schedule for classes and the first project and book. After that we will have new assignment sheets every time it is needed for the next upcoming project. Projects will include, take me on a tour of your neighborhood, share a special meal with Stanley, share a family tradition, show me your room, show me your pet, etc.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
