Have you ever wanted to have a flag outside your home? Did you know that there are special rules for handling an American flag? This 30 minute class will provide students with all the information that they need to know regarding the proper way to store, hang, handle, and fold an American flag. In class, we will go over what each fold represents when a flag is being folded, as well as how to care for your American flag. Lighting, weather, and other factors will be discussed, and students will leave class with a working knowledge of US flag etiquette.

I work at a World War II museum, and we often educate youth regarding the care and maintenance of American flags. In addition to this, we raise, lower, and care for a selection of flags including service flags, an American flag, and a POW-MIA flag on a daily basis.
