Class Experience

Tactile learning is very cool! Please ensure that your learner has something that he/she can run his/her fingers across for tracing the letters. This can include sand in a sand tray, rice in a tray, paint in a bag, a soft blanket, light sandpaper, a desk or table, a needlepoint plastic canvas, or any object that can texturally be felt with the fingers. This way, each child can "feel" the letters in memorizing the directionality. This is used in the Orton-Gillingham approach and is highly effective in helping children feel directionality. Thank you so much! If you are using the additional worksheets, please have a writing tool handy too. See you soon!
35 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
