What will be taught? Students will learn how to write a well-structured five-paragraph essay, including developing a strong thesis, organizing ideas effectively, using transitions, and refining their writing through editing. What topics will you cover? Understanding essay structure (Introduction, Body, Conclusion) Crafting a clear thesis statement Supporting ideas with evidence and examples Using transitions for logical flow Editing and revising for clarity and impact How is your class structured? The class will be divided into interactive lessons focusing on each part of the five-paragraph essay. Each session will include a mix of instruction, guided practice, and hands-on activities to reinforce learning. How will you teach? I will use a combination of mini-lessons, writing exercises, group discussions, and real-world examples. Students will engage in both individual and collaborative activities to practice their skills in a fun, low-pressure environment. What's your teaching style? My teaching style is engaging, supportive, and interactive. I believe in encouraging creativity while providing clear guidance, constructive feedback, and positive reinforcement to help students grow as writers. How much will learners get to interact with you? Students will have multiple opportunities to interact with me through live discussions, writing games, and interactive exercises. They will receive direct feedback on their writing, participate in group brainstorming activities, and engage in Q&A sessions. Additionally, I will use slides, short video clips, and collaborative writing challenges to keep the learning process fun and dynamic!

Pre-Requisites
Previous writing skills are a must. Students should be able to write in complete sentences before taking this class.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Sources
Students will be writing argumentative essays on a favorite food, sport or animal. They may partake in outside class time research for their paper, and as such the teacher will not be able to monitor web usage.
