Description

Class Experience

Writers will use the 5 paragraph structure to address an expository prompt. Expository writing is the most tested type of writing and is most closely related to the writing used in real life. Expository writing includes process essays, comparison essays, cause/effect essays, descriptive essays, and problem/solution essays.
We will review the standard structure of a 5 paragraph essay and the importance of each part. This may be a review for learners. 
Students will create their own graphic...

Students will understand how to find the essential question in the prompt and the process of creating a 5 paragraph plan to address the prompt completely.

  1 file available upon enrollment
Something to write with and write on.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Students will demonstrate their understanding throughout the class with informal assessments and their final plan.

55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
