In this class, the students will listen to the fingerplay Five Little Pumpkins written by Amy Brown for the first read-through. The students will also be looking at pictures that match each section of the finger play while they listen. This is a fall theme, so if you do not celebrate Halloween it will be fine for your child. The students will make a craft that helps them retell the story. Then the students will practice retelling the story using their craft. All students will be encouraged to participate in the retelling. The students will also practice counting the pumpkins and identifying the rhyming words. If time allows, we will do another retelling with the students each being assigned to a pumpkin.

Supply List
The students will need the pumpkin cutout that I will send to you before class. Please help your child cut out the pumpkins before class. They will need crayons, markers, or colored pencils to color the pumpkins. They will need popsicle sticks, straws, or something to put their pumpkins on. They will need tape to keep their pumpkins attached.
