In this class, the students will listen to the fingerplay Five Little Fish written by Amy Brown for the first read-through. The students will also be looking at pictures that match each section of the fingerplay while they listen. The students will make a paper fish puppet using a printout that I will provide. Then the students will practice retelling the story using their puppets. All students will be encouraged to participate in the retelling. The students will also practice counting the fish and identifying the rhyming words. If time allows, we will do another retelling with the students each being assigned to a fish.

(Students may make more fish puppets if there is time. All five fish will be provided for a future retelling of the story.)
