My five day, teacher-led, four week, theme-based class can be started at any time BUT is an entire Preschool/Pre-K curriculum if taken consecutively for 36 weeks. Our class will be run like a typical preschool circle or group time. ~ We will start with a Good Day song ~ We will have a Question of the Week at the beginning of our first class weekly ~ We will talk about the weather where each child lives ~ We will introduce a weekly theme and talk about it (Themes for each session are listed...
My students will have fun while introducing them to our theme based learning each week. We will be learning the alphabet from A to Z and numbers 0-25. We will also be learning a little about our themes based on the letter we are working on. We will be learning songs, fingerplays, moving our bodies and learning kindergarten readiness skills. We will gain social skills through talking with others, taking turns and more
I have been teaching for more than 30 years in classrooms from birth to 12th grade. My last position was a preschool/kindergarten teacher working with 4, 5 and 6 year-old children for the past five years. I attend regular educational classes to stay current on teaching styles and incorporate what I have learned into my classes. I want everyone to have fun! I am not one to mute learners unless absolutely necessary.
I will be including resources weekly that include letters, numbers, color pages, art ideas and patterns, writing, cutting and other preschool skills that you can do at your own pace as you see fit for your schedule.
A dry erase board with markers and eraser OR notebook to use during class with other writing materials to use during writing practice. Preferably NOT pencils as they are difficult to see online. Markers or crayons and paper are a better option. Thanks! Crayons, pencil, paper, scissors, glue to use during non-instructional time
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
This is an introductory group time which exposes the child to letters and numbers and a variety of subjects. Learners are assessed through observations and participation in our discussions. Discussions with the children during our time together will help assess the child's understanding of each theme, letter and number.
2 hours 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
