Class Experience

First off, let me say how excited I am to lead this P.E. and Fitness course! Health and fitness are my passion and I am excited to help lead your learners in these fields!

In this ongoing health and fitness camp, students will jump into exciting, intentionally designed workouts mixed with applicable health and exercise tips. Students can expect 3 workouts a week that include different exercises and training styles each day. In the workouts, students will be encouraged and challenge to bring great effort and attitude to class. I do not design these workouts to be easy, but I do design the workouts to be fun, engaging and challenging. After all, I imagine that all of your learners are always looking for the next challenge! Let me explain each section of the class:

Fitness Workouts:
Throughout the first week of the camp, we will establish baselines for numerous main movements (Push Ups, Plank Time, Sitting Toe Reach and Squat Hold). The goal of these baselines is to monitor progress and areas of growth throughout the camp. Then, each workout will be new. You can expect your learner to workout every class. I will always introduce new exercises following an "I do, we do, you do" model. These workouts will help your learner improve their fitness in areas of endurance, strength, coordination, flexibility, confidence, and self-esteem. Every 4 weeks, we will reassess our baselines to see how much each learner has improved. This is going to be an awesome moment of celebration for everyone!

Fall and Spring Curriculum
In this ongoing course, middle school students will build foundational physical education skills throughout this national standards-based course. Physical education is essential for all students as they will practice motor skills, movement patterns, coordination, balance and sport specific skills. All of these abilities are fundamental to any physical education program. This class will offer the fun and engaging atmosphere of a classroom P.E. class, but in the safety of your own home. As a middle school and high school physical education teacher and high school football coach, I see the importance of all student practicing fitness and other related skills. Students will be able to jump in at any time throughout the course and feel included and energized!
