Note: This class is somewhat Fall themed and will be offered again in the Fall. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. This is the 2nd lesson in series of 3 lessons that will introduce young beginners to the basics of playing the piano. In this lesson we will review finger numbers and play a game where students will name the correct hand or finger number. Then, we will learn the music alphabet and the names of the white keys. Students will practice finding and playing the CDE groups on their pianos by trying different rhythms and improvising. At the end, the teacher will tell a short story about Peter and his Dog, read a poem, and show how to play part 2 of "Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater". Students will practice playing the song on their pianos for the remaining of the class. Students will have a downloadable workbook that they can print out and use during the lesson or after, as they continue practicing piano outside the lesson. Teacher will also post a short video tutorial after the class for students to watch if they need any additional help with learning and practicing the song.
