Beginner Level
In this class, we will dig into the best writing practice to help develop our young writers. Each week we will work on proper sentence structure, planning to a prompt, drafting our plan, making editing and revising changes to complete the prompt. These practices will use content and instruction that students would receive within a brick and mortar classroom for their literacy block. Our instructional focus will support learners who are working on a first grade level or students needing standards based support for a first grade student. We will work on the skills, content, and standards students will need to master during their first grade academic year. For our writing instruction, we will teach the grammar rules, sentence structures, and writing process for young learners. We will work towards becoming fluent writers and strive towards writing our own response where students can brainstorm, plan, draft, revise with assistance, and edit to publish their own pieces. The use of goggle slide, weekly print outs, and guided instruction will help learners grow and develop each class. Revision and editing support occurs during class. Learners will be asked to show their writing on camera or read back their writing for support and guidance. Class format- 1st class of the week- introduce prompt, style of writing (narrative, expository, opinion background), and how to create a plan according to a prompt together with a main idea and supporting details. 2nd class of the week- write according to a plan, how to create dynamic sentences that include transition words, proper structure, and includes details to support the plan. Editing and revising also occur in this class. ****Weekly writing printouts are sent out in advance to the beginning of class. These are used to support the writing process of class and are not mandatory**** *****Writing Styles will repeat again throughout the year. New prompts will be written for each week. ***** ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🍎Spring semester to begin January 6, 2025.🍎 🍎Class Framework for 2024- 2025- ⭐️Semester 1 to begin August 12, 2024 ⭐️. 1 week off at Thanksgiving (November 25- 29) Semester 1 ends- December 20 - January 5 Semester 2 begins January 6, 2025 New semester to begin in January for spring semester. Teacher expertise and credentials
Florida Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
I’m a compassionate and charismatic teacher who loves to teach! I have taught Kindergarten through 5th grade students for the last 14 years. In that time, I have been a general education teacher in the public schools setting for 10 years. I specialized as a reading coach, to my school, for two of those years. I have been teaching online since February 2020. I’m certified to teach Elementary education from Kindergarten to 6th grade. I absolutely love teaching First Grade. I taught First Grade for 8 years, in the public school setting, and 4 years on Outschool. It is one of my favorite grades to teach. One of the largest academic transformations occurs in First Grade. I have taught these lessons in the public school setting and here on Outschool with so many students who have mastered the content. I’m looking forward to sharing this fun class with your wonderful student!
