Description
Class Experience
The class is designed to review basic story writing skills such as parts of speech, parts of a story, sentence formation, story ideas and the writer's craft.
I have a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and 16 years of experience teaching a variety of ages and subjects.
Learners will work both individually and as a group during class. Homework outside of class may include finishing a writing assignment. For some of my classes I will assign a read aloud viewing. I will provide a link to the read aloud video in the classroom.
2 Writing Folders, one for holding supplies and one for holding written work Supply Folder needs to include: -3 pieces of blank paper -3 pieces of lined paper (whichever lined paper your learner is used to using) -3 blank books - Please make your blank book before coming to class. Fold 2 blank pieces of blank paper together with the short edges meeting. Put one folded paper inside the other and staple the fold to make the binding of the book. pencils, crayons
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
There is no formal assessment in this course. In each class, I confer with each student during the independent writing time to see how the learner is doing with their writing.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
