In 1st Together, students will have a dynamic learning experience as they learn a variety of subjects that constitute a well balanced first grade experience. We will rotate between english, math, science, history units throughout this class.

All students are welcome in this safe place. We love our Neurodiverse students and work hard to provide an inclusive environment for all as I, (Teacher Greg) am I a Neurodiverse teacher with a Neurodiverse son. Ages listed for this class are simply suggestions. Every student is unique and have different needs at different ages. Ages are flexible and all are welcome.

The social aspect of 1st grade is crucially important as students learn to take turns, listen to each other and work together as a group. There will be opportunities for students to grow their social skills in every class where every class starts with social time. Students will take turns talking and listening to each other. Students will only be muted if they choose or excessive noise from their microphone prevents a quality learning environment. Please have your learner take class in a quiet place.

Every week a parent letter will be posted on the classroom page to give a detailed description of the coming week's lessons. Some lessons will have pdf worksheets that can be used after class to reinforce the lesson taught. Not ever week’s lessons will have worksheets but many will.

As with all of my classes, this will be a fun, interactive and lively class. Shy students will not be forced to verbally respond or interact but active participation will be encouraged.

As a father to an active 6 year old, I know that learning must be fun. The early years of a child’s education is critical not only for their future success but also their enjoyment of learning. I want to start kids off right on this journey. I have a BA in Student Ministry with over a decade experience teaching children. I have over 4 years of experience teaching children on online platforms and pride myself on never letting kids get bored yet always be learning. I previously held credentials through the State of Ohio Department of Education (now expired). I have a passion for helping children succeed.
