This is an ongoing class so you may join and attend all of the weeks or just the weeks you would like. This class meets twice a week to learn and practice a new math skill. For a complete understanding of the topics each week, practice at home between classes is encouraged unless the student is excelling or using this class as a review. This class is a great supplemental class for the school year! General Class Outline *Depending on the topic covered each week, activities may vary some but this is the main lesson plan.* -Each class will begin with a fun and engaging song to warm up for the skill of the day! -Presentation (slide show) of the skill being practiced with active learner participation. (looking at images or numbers and answering questions) -Hands on practice: In each class for every topic, students will engage together in an activity on a worksheet to record and build answers upon. I will use my document camera to show each activity and how to complete the steps so students can always check their work with me. I will upload all the activity pages at the beginning of each week that need to be brought to class. -Supplies: Students will need to have available: a pencil, eraser, crayons, a whiteboard, and marker for each class. It is important that students are able to print and bring the worksheet activity each day to class as well as having a whiteboard and maker ready. Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Jenna and I am an experienced elementary teacher from northeast Ohio. My passion in life has always been early childhood education and I have enjoyed the past 8 years teaching kindergarten through second grade. I also have spent the past 3 & 1/2 years teaching English online to Chinese students. I love the connection I have made with the children in my classroom and around the world!
Outside of teaching I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling with my husband. We love spending time relaxing at the beach and exploring big cities!
My goal is always to provide my students a content rich learning experience with lively and meaningful interactive classes! I routinely work with kindergarten and first graders so my classes are generally for children ages 3-9 in a variety of topics and subject areas.
My time teaching on Outschool has been so rewarding and definitely one of the best decisions I have ever made! I have been inspired to create classes in a wide variety of subject areas and met some amazing students along the way. I hope to see you in one of my classes soon!
