US Grade 1
In this one time course we will learn and review sight words and high frequency words expected to be mastered for first grade. During class, students will be actively engaged playing sight word games, matching, reading the words, and writing. We will play a sight word Lego game where we search for stars and the golden brick. This class will meet the needs of each type of learner that includes kinesthetic, visual, and auditory. For best results in seeing success with sight words, students should be exposed to these words through flashcards or in written text throughout the week. I will post sight word flash cards that you will have access to after class. Traceable worksheets will also be available after class. Here are the following words that will be taught in this class: a, girl, little, an, goes, she, as, has, the, at, he, to boy, is, was, by, it * There will be 6 one time classes and you may sign up to any of my Lego sight word classes in any order. Worksheets will be given for Homework and it is strongly recommended that they finish them at home for extra practice. Making flashcards for each sight word and reviewing them each class is highly encouraged!

Legos or Duplo blocks and a dry erase marker may be used, but not necessary.
