Description
Class Experience
Many sight words do not follow basic phonics principles so they are not easy to decode or sound out. It is my goal to help your young learner increase their sight word bank so they will have increased reading fluency and comprehension.
The teacher was a kindergarten and first-grade teacher for over twenty years in public elementary schools. Both of her boys knew how to read before they entered kindergarten partially because she found opportunities to teach using everyday objects like “sticks and nickels”.
1 file available upon enrollment-Approximately 20 craft sticks (popsicle sticks)-available at any craft store -Approximately 30 nickels Is it okay to substitute crayons for the craft sticks and pennies for the nickels? Yes, it is! Is it okay to substitute Q-tips for the craft sticks and euro coins the nickels? Yes, it is!
35 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
