Learning Goals
The first 20 minutes is our reading time. We practice reading with our sight words and CVC words (Consonant-Vowel-Consonant). Then, we get moving with a silly camp song, courtesy of Moose Fabio and the folks at MooseTube. The last 20 minutes is our math time. We practice numbers 1-50 while practicing Base 10 charts, skip counting, addition, subtraction, and greater than / less than.

Teaching Experience
I have over ten years of teaching experience in a variety of learning environments and age groups. I have been an online educator for over 5 years and I am currently a licensed middle school social studies teacher. I am convinced that few things are as rewarding as teaching and enriching the lives of children. My three sons love Outschool and I strive to offer the same quality classes that I expect for my own kids. You will receive quick feedback (and grades, upon request). I respond to messages and inquiries within 48 hours.

My Teaching Philosophy
I love to engage my learners with interesting content and plenty of discussion. I believe effective teaching ignites the curiosity of every child. I look forward to teaching your learner through quality content, student encouragement, and an engaging classroom environment.

Educational Background
I am licensed to teach secondary social studies in the state of North Carolina. I hold a graduate certificate in Multicultural and Transnational Literatures from East Carolina University. I attended Georgia College & State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies in 2006. I studied four main disciplines: Anthropology, History, World Religions, and Philosophy. My main course of study was Anthropology. In this discipline, I studied cultural and physical anthropology, geology, and the human contribution to climate change. I had the opportunity to take part in an archaeological dig to study Pre-Columbian civilizations at the Gerace Research Centre on San Salvador Island, Bahamas. I am also TESOL certified. Because of my educational foundation, I have a profound respect for other cultures and perspectives. All students are welcome in my classroom.

Please send me a message if you have any questions or would like to schedule a class at a time that would be more convenient to you. I hope to teach your learner soon!
