In this class, our learning goals are to build vocabulary and reading skills. We will also work on 1st-grade math skills. Additionally, we will learn about different animals, explore various community roles, science and geography.

Welcome to Ms. Abby's 1st-grade class! I am excited to meet your learner and help them build essential first-grade skills. In this class, we will learn about a different animal each week. We will also develop reading, math, and writing skills, as well as explore science and geography. This class will meet twice a week for 55 minutes each session. Hello, and welcome to my class! I'm Abby. I have over 30 years experience working with children ages 2-16. For many years, I was the co-owner, director of instruction, and lead teacher for J & A Daycare Center. I also have many years of experience caring for and teaching children through nannying and private home daycare, including children on the autism spectrum. (I have such a heart for children with special needs!) For the past five years, it has been my joy to homeschool my 20-year-old daughter. It is exciting to see her thriving and enjoying learning!
My teaching style is warm, creative, and fun. I am passionate about teaching young children! I love to encourage children and make sure they feel welcome. My goal for my classes is for every child to walk away smiling and feeling like they had a good time!
My husband, daughter and I make our home in Athens, GA. I enjoy wood painting, coloring, cooking, and crafts. I am so excited to meet and teach your child!Reviews
