US Grade 1
Welcome! In this class, we will add and subtract up to ten! I will write on the white board on the computer! Students will copy my writing to create flash cards to go with each math fact, such as 6 + 4 = 10! At the end of class, students may take turns quizzing each other with their flash cards or reading their cards aloud! I will assist if anyone needs help, and all discussion contributions are valued! This class is perfect for kindergarten and first grade students! They will also learn valuable note taking skills! Students should bring index cards to class! Or, you can cut a paper into small pieces for them, so they can write one fact on each one! Please also bring a pencil, pen or marker to write with! I will post a coloring sheet in the classroom as well, to reinforce these concepts! If you print it before class, then students are welcome to follow along with it during class and color it during class! If you print it after class, then students are welcome to use it to review during homework time!
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding and automatic recall of addition and subtraction facts!
