1 hour per week. Optional practice will be given every Monday to apply the skills taught on your own time. A review video and/or answer key will be provided to promote independence.

 I’m so excited to embark on this wonderful learning journey with your amazing kids this year. We have a fantastic adventure ahead, filled with numbers, shapes, patterns, and so much more.

Each week, we’ll dive into new and exciting math topics, making sure to have plenty of fun along the way. From hands-on activities to engaging games, I’m dedicated to making math a joyful and enriching experience for your children.

🖍️ What a Typical Class Looks Like 🖍️

Each week, we'll dive into a brand-new 1st-grade topic. A typical class will kick things off with fun warm-ups to review what we've already learned and make sure we're all set for new discoveries. Then, it's time for our mini-lesson, where we'll explore the day's exciting subject and become super smart about it!  First, I'll show you how it's done, then we'll try it together, and finally, you'll get to show off your new skills all by yourself. Ready to learn and have a blast? Let's go! 🚀📚✨

We are open to all learners.
Parental Guidance
Students will be using the program Nearpod. This does not require a sign in but there is a link provided to access the lesson.
Pre-Requisites
Your child is ready to take this course if he/she can: -count to ten (preferably higher) -write numbers one to ten -Identify basic shapes -solve simple addition and subtraction word problems using objects to support (fingers, counters, etc)
Supply List
The following supplies are recommended, but not required.  Many students benefit from touching manipulatives and your math supplies can be built overtime if needed.  I will also provide paper manipulatives that can be printed:
-125 small counters (Legos and dried beans work well)
- pattern blocks
-coins
-play money
-blank index cards
-playing cards
-2 dice
-educational clock (often referred to as a "Judy clock")
-simplified ruler
-blank paper
-pencils
-Dry erase board and Expo marker
-you may want page protectors to protect copies of games you love

Hi friends!  I'm Mrs. Krulia and I come to you with 15 years of classroom experience.  I  earned my Undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia in Elementary Education with a math endorsement.  I also earned my Masters degree from American College of Education in Curriculum and Instruction.

I'm a Nearpod Certified Educator and love jazzing up my math lessons with Nearpod. It makes learning fun and interactive! My students get to dive into games, tackle problems on their own, and everyone gets a chance to practice their skills. It's a win-win!
