First Grade Circle Time: English, Math, Science & Show and Tell!

In this class, our goal is to develop a routine and to have fun learning! Having a class with this style will help learners develop consistency in the classroom! If I find that the material is too easy for some students but more difficult for others, I will happily adjust the level of difficulty for each learner! I will extend by teaching more detailed information if necessary! At the end of class, we will review what we learned and say goodbye! Not only will students learn new words, mathematics and science concepts, they will also build strong communication and social skills so they will be ready to make new friends!

Each day will begin with introductions.
Then, we will work on saying identifying the day and the current month.
Then, we will dive in to our English segment which will include the sight word of the week, use it in a sentence, and spell the word, and draw a picture in association with the words!
We will learn and practice the math or science topic of the week (place value, states of matter, double digit addition, etc)!

Every fourth day (usually a Thursday or Friday) we will have Show and Tell so the students can socialize and build friendships!

SCHEDULE:
Week of October 4: Double Digit Addition (ex. 15+8)
Week of October 11: States of Matter
Week of October 18: Place Value
Week of October 25: Analog Clocks


SCHEDULE NOTES:
This class will take place Monday-Thursday, unless there is a US holiday during one of these days, then we will have a make-up class on a Friday.

*CLASS TIME*
All class times are approximate. Class length varies based on student ability and number of enrolled learners. Classes are designed so that they will not run longer than the time allotted.

*LATE/MISSED CLASS POLICY*
All courses will begin on time as long as one learner is in the classroom. In the event that no students are in the classroom at the assigned class time, the teacher will leave a message on the discussion board and exit after 10 min. Class recordings are available upon request. 

*MISSED ONGOING CLASSES*
Per Outschool policy, there are no refunds or credits for missed classes. As an ongoing class, the subscription holds your spot and prevents another learner from taking it. If you need to miss a class, please withdraw so that another learner can fill the slot if they wish. Recordings are posted as soon as they are available for absent students.

*REFUND/TRANSFER POLICY*
Per Outschool policy, there are no refunds or credits for missed classes. I will be glad to transfer your learner to another section but require 24 hours' notice. This timing is necessary in order to fill the spot you are vacating. If I transfer you on short notice, I may not be able to fill your original spot, which means you are taking up two spots but only paying for one.
