Although anyone is welcome to attend the class, it is highly recommended the student understands the basic sight words, phonic sounds, interest in science, and an understanding of Math. All of these subjects are discussed in the First Grade Boot Camp. This class will focus more on detail on each of these topics. Week 1 Reading and Writing Common nouns, proper nouns, and verbs Math- Number review 1-20, word problems Science- Star, planets, constellations Week 2 Reading and Writing- adjectives and prepositions Math- Addition problems Science- Dinosaurs Week 3 Reading and Writing- Building sentences; statements, question marks, exclamation marks Math- Subtraction Science- Anatomy; exploring the different systems Week 4 Reading and Writing- capitalization; names, places, months, days Math- Shopping review Science- Animal’s group Week 5 Reading and Writing- Comma practice; dates, cities, states Math- Number lines Science- Weather Week 6 Reading and Writing- Apostrophes Math- Adding double digits Science- Matter
Learners will be required to print worksheets or use paper and pencil to copy the material from the files
