Class Experience
Fluency is the ability to read a text accurately, quickly, and with expression. Reading fluency is important because it provides a bridge between word recognition and comprehension. Fluency is also very important for motivation! Don't let your reading fluency slip through the cracks this holiday season. In this flex tutoring session, there will be a short video (8-15 minutes). This class is taught in English.
Students will grow in their reading fluency by practicing reading and comprehension.
I am a certified reading teacher in the state of NC. I have over 13 years of experience and a Master of Education with a Concentration in Reading. I have taught online, and in the public and charter school systems.
Students will complete comprehension questions.
A 2-page handout each week
Students will document their words per minute that they read.
No live meetings, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students may need assistance setting timer for 1 minute
