Description
Class Experience
Students will learn finger numbers, keys on the piano, Treble Clef and Bass Clef notes, note values, counting beats, finger exercises, and simple songs for each hand alone and both hands. Learners also experience playing in front of a small group of other learners and listening to other learners.
Homework will be practice time in between scheduled lesson times. A total of approximately 20 minutes, 3-4 different times, should be enough to secure the information and be prepared for the next lesson. The homework expectations will be e-mailed to the parent and the learner at the end of lesson. Slides may be printed at the parent's discretion. Some slides will be duplicates of previous classes as we review the information. Students need to be able to view the screen share with my hints and helper markings during class. Printed slides are great for practice time when learners are taking a break from screen-time.
Learners will need to view the new music on their screen during class. The music will be provided by e-mail following class that can be printed or viewed online for praciticing. Learners are NOT required to purchase any books or materials to participate in this class since I arrange and compose all of the music myself and provide it in the slideshow. Each learner should have access to a piano or music keyboard. Having paper and a pencil to take notes is helpful for some learners.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
At the end of each lesson, I will send an email to the parent and the learner with a recap of the lesson progress and practice expectations. The slideshow is added to and updated at the beginning of each class session. No grades are given and I expect only progress, not perfection!
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Music and worksheets are arranged or created by Mrs. Pauli and will be provided for the learner on a Google slideshow.
