This class will be offered one time in a circle time format. The theme of the circle will be fire trucks and we will do all of the following with that in mind: sing songs, read a book, watch a video, do an activity, and learn about fire trucks. This class will be interactive and lots of fun to keep the learners engaged! I am a patient, calm, and animated teacher. I keep children involved by singing songs and keeping circle moving at a steady pace. The learners will be able to interact by joining along in songs and dances, answering questions during the book reading, participating in the activity, and having discussions about fire trucks. No experience or knowledge is needed in advance of taking this course.
Learning Goals
The students will learn some basic information about fire trucks. I will also be incorporating literacy skills, pre-math skills, and social/emotional learning within the circle time.

We will be reading "The Firefighters Counting Book" by Polly Curren. We will be singing a song called "Hurry, Hurry Drive the Fire Truck"! We will also sing a variation on "Wheels on the Bus" with fire truck parts inserted into the song.

I've been teaching young children for the past 16 years and have experience teaching preschool children of all developmental levels. I have my Masters in Child & Family Studies and my Birth to Kindergarten (BK) License.
I taught for about a year and a half on Outschool during COVID but then returned to a full time job in the public schools and didn’t have time to do both. I’m really excited to start teaching on Outschool again.
I focus heavily on social/emotional learning along with literacy and pre-academic skills. I enjoy using songs, books, activities, and group discussions to teach a variety of skills.
I live in Washington state and am a big fan of the Seattle Seahawks! I have a 11-year old son and a 3-year old golden/lab mix dog.
