4 in-class hoursClass Experience
In this class, art and words come together! Each week we will focus on 4-5 letters of the alphabet and learn how to create fingerprint animals and objects for each letter. Students will be provided PDF files to print out before class. Each worksheet has the letters and sight words we will be working with. Once students have completed the 6-week course, they will have created fingerprint designs for each letter. The end result of this class is a set of 26 letter and sight-word flashcards that your learners will have designed themselves. These cards are great to use outside of the classroom as well! Week 1: * Introduction to the course * Quick review of the basic shapes we will use for each fingerprint art in week one * Letters A, B, C & D Week 2: * Quick review of the shapes used for the fingerprint art in week two * Letters E, F, G, H & I * As a review, students will share their favorite letter and word from week one Week 3: * Quick review of the shapes used for the fingerprint art in week three * Letters J, K, L & M * As a review, students will share their favorite letter and word from week two Week 4: * Quick review of the shapes used for the fingerprint art in week four * Letters N, O, P, Q & R * As a review, students will share their favorite letter and word from week three Week 5: * Quick review of the shapes used for the fingerprint art in week five * Letters S, T, U & V * As a review, students will share their favorite letter and word from week four Week 6: * Quick review of the shapes used for the fingerprint art in week six * Letters W, X, Y & Z * As a review, students will share their favorite letter and word from week five Please note: The focus of this course is to create fingerprint art that correlates to each letter so students will have a set of ABC flashcards with sight words. I will go over letter writing briefly, but how to write letters is not the objective of this course.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi there, I’m so glad you have stopped by!
Let me introduce myself! I am a mom to two kiddos and three fur babies (we are animal lovers in our household), a Disney fanatic, and I am also a military spouse. As a military spouse I have been blessed with the opportunity to travel the country and connect with so many wonderful people and experience new places. I love to incorporate things I have seen in my travels into my art projects. I have a bachelor’s degree in visual communication marketing and studio art as well as completed coursework in art education. I am also a professional artist and my clay work can be found online and has been exhibited in multiple galleries.
I have been teaching art classes for over a decade while working in a variety of art studios across the country. I currently own a mobile art studio, Muddy Moose Pottery, that brings art enrichment classes into schools, daycares and homeschool groups. I have always been a creative soul and I truly believe that everyone is an artist, you just have to find the art medium you’re most passionate about! This is why you will find that I teach a wide variety of art classes ranging from clay hand-building to acrylic canvas painting and everything in between. I also offer classes for younger ages that put a fun spin on color recognition and color mixing as well as turning basic shapes into works of art.
I will continually expand class offerings and refine the course material so I can always provide your learners with the best art classes possible. If you would like to check out some of the classes I have taught, check out my Facebook page: Muddy Moose Pottery. I look forward to providing your learners with a fun and educational creative outlet!
Fun fact about me: I used to work in the public relations department of an aquarium and have watched jellyfish grow, an octopus open a peanut butter jar and I have fed and photographed African penguins! I love animals and you will find animal themes in many of my art classes!
