Class experience
US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 2
Beginner Level
In this class, young students will "follow" Fairies while exploring Manet's paintings. We will concentrate on works depicting Manet's garden including 2 paintings of Water Lilies. Children will learn a few facts about Claude Monet, listen to a story, and discuss some of his paintings. Students will learn (or review) what artists do and what kind of painting is called "landscape". In the second portion of the class, we will make a craft inspired by the artworks presented in the first portion...
Students will: • learn some facts about Monet • learn (or review) what artists do and what type of painting is called "landscape" • practice their observation skills • exercise their fine motor skills while working on an art project • use their imagination
Supply List: • Cardboard sheet (could be cut out from cereal box) about 7x9 inches • Blue and Green construction paper • Napkin OR Tissue Paper (preferably in one of the following colors: white, blue, pink or yellow) • Glue • Small scissors • Scotch tape • Markers
For the craft portion of the class, parental guidance is required for younger students (ages 4-5) for the use of scissors and other materials. Parental guidance is recommended for older students (ages 6-8).
