Description
Class Experience
I am offering this class because I love art and have taught painting in the past.
Students are invited to post a picture of their finished project in the classroom to share with the teacher and classmates. Students who want to expand upon their learning can name their artwork, share what they used to make it and give details about their inspiration. We will also begin processing these thoughts and questions as a group during the class.
Please bring the following supplies to class Choose some of the following suggestions to bind items together: strong craft glue, scotch or masking tape, scrap paper, floral wire For cutting and shaping objects: scissors Found art options: wrappers, bottle caps, scrap paper, cardboard, scrap fabric, wood, Popsicle sticks, cotton balls, tissue paper, silk flowers or anything else your learner can think of :-)
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Pablo Picasso created around 50,000 works of art in his lifetime. Some of his work does deal with the subjects of war, violence, social hardships and mental health. In this class, because the learners are young, I have only chosen images that focus on the art styles cubism and found art sculpture. I have not included any images containing nudity or any images depicting war, violence, social hardships or mental health. Parents can continue to study famous works by this artist, such a Guernica (1937) as a supplement to this class as they see fit.
