In this one time course, we will learn some great mindfulness skills for kids. We will discuss the meaning of mindfulness and try out the basics of a variety of activities including meditation, journaling, yoga, and breathing techniques.

Description

Class Experience

Students will learn the meaning of mindfulness and discover specific techniques to apply in their daily lives.
As a Montessori teacher, my training has focused on educating the whole child, including their emotional well being. I have learned much about teaching mindfulness to kids in my own teacher training and implement mindfulness techniques frequently in my elementary classroom.
There will be no homework assigned with this course.
Multiple pieces of paper, pencil, and something to color with
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
This class will involve light exercise in the form of yoga. Your child should have an open space to perform these stretches. These exercises will be low intensity with minimal risk of injury and will make up less than 10 minutes of the course.
