Finding your Voice will include breathing, relaxation, projection, and diction techniques to help you feel more confident presenting in front of a group of people. Often when people feel stressed talking to a group of people, it's because they're not breathing properly. We'll use the pencil trick, which has been used by radio announcers and DJs, so that you don't overtax your voice. We'll even sneak a little Shakespeare, but this class is for actors and non-actors alike who just want to learn how to speak with confidence. Special Guest Max Grimm will work with Kelley Grimm to teach the basic concepts of good voice techniques.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their breathing, voice, and diction during this course.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello, my name is Kelley Cody-Grimm, and I'm an acting coach and screenwriter. I first started down the acting path back in middle school by writing comedy sketches and performing them. I have been performing professionally for over thirty years, mostly in improvisation. I have coached hundreds of students with original monologues written by my two daughters and me that were turned into demo reels and then shown at red carpet premieres in Atlanta. I am passionate about helping my students find and hone their creative side through acting, improv, script analysis, and screenwriting. My screenplays have been featured in national and international film festivals, and a pilot I produced was also in an Australian film festival. My husband and two daughters love the arts and we want to foster that passion in others.
