Class Experience

This class focuses on building confidence in public speaking and active listening. Students will learn how to express themselves clearly, connect with an audience, and develop the essential life skill of effective communication.

What will we learn?
Public Speaking Skills: Eye contact, voice clarity, pacing, and audience engagement.
Active Listening: How to be a respectful audience member and provide constructive feedback.
Presentation Techniques: Crafting engaging content, organizing thoughts, and handling Q&A sessions confidently.
Overcoming Nervousness: Practical tips to stay calm and focused while presenting
Each session is divided into two main parts:

Presenting: Students take turns practicing prepared or impromptu speeches.
Audience Practice: Students observe, listen, and provide feedback to their peers, building their listening and evaluation skills.

My teaching style is dynamic, supportive, and interactive. I use slides, games, group discussions, and occasional video clips to illustrate key points and keep students engaged. Each session provides hands-on opportunities to practice speaking and listening skills in a safe and welcoming environment.

Interaction is a key part of this class! I provide:
Personalized feedback on each presentation.
Group discussions where I guide and support students as they share ideas.
Games and activities where I participate alongside students to model skills.

Expectations for Students
For Presenters: Come prepared with a plan or outline. Speak clearly, make eye contact, and enjoy the process.
For the Audience: Listen attentively, save questions for the end, and remain respectful.
For All: Maintain a positive attitude, practice kindness, and stay engaged for the full session.

Behavior Guidelines
We prioritize respect, kindness, and inclusion. Disrespectful behavior, such as interrupting, using foul language, or mocking peers, will not be tolerated. This ensures a safe space where all students feel valued and supported.
