Class Experience
US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 4
**Please note that, while I try to schedule sections of this course 3-4 weeks before the beginning of a new "semester" in my courses, I welcome requests for this course at any time. I teach many ongoing courses that can be joined at any time, and I also know many families make plans far in advance. Please feel free to make a schedule request! In this quick, 15-minute class, learners will have an age-appropriate assessment of strengths, weaknesses, and pressing needs. Upon completion, learners and their adults will receive a quick summary, as well as suggestions regarding appropriate placement in future classes. In this short meeting, I will meet your learner, get an idea of their experience with reading and/or writing, their ability to decode ("sound out"), encode (spell), and read with fluency and expression. The more information I have about your learner before the class (including your ideas about strengths and weaknesses), the more targeted the assessment will be. I will include suggestions for appropriate courses.
