***UPDATED 06/2023 - Updated Content & Lower Price*** If you are looking for that one class to help educate your student(s) for the future after high school, then this is the ONE! With that being said, if you choose to take this class, please enroll a few days prior so that I can make sure you receive the worksheets prior to the start of class. My name is Lance Davis and I want to thank you for considering this intense Personal Finance & Career Preparation Class directed toward Teenagers. For the past 7 years I have taught criminal justice classes along with personal finance to 9th-12th grade students in career education. This will not be your typical accounting and personal finance class that you learn in high school. Instead this class targets very specific and important areas that will help older students understand what awaits them in their older teenage years and then as they move into college, careers, and adulthood. This is the exact kind of information I wish would have been taught to me while I was in high school. Several years ago, I started listening to a great financial guru, Dave Ramsey, and he inspired me to teach these classes to help educate students young and old on their financial journey, and to share the ups and downs that my wife and I learned throughout our own personal journey. I have followed Dave Ramsey now for over a decade and I have went on to become a Certified Financial Master Coach through Ramsey Solutions as well as a Financial Peace Coordinator so that I can help families reach their financial goals. In this intense four-day course, students will learn skills that will help them in the world that revolves around money. It will help students gain knowledge in budgeting, spending, saving, investing for retirement, buying their first car, careers, job interviewing tips and practice, along with so much more. It will also help students with self-confidence and some leadership skills. Classes are scheduled for an hour each but be prepared to stay a little longer as I want to make sure everything is covered, and all questions are answered before leaving for the day. After the class is completed, I will give you a valuable list of resources to help you along the way for many years to come. Please have something to write with along with the printouts that are sent to the classroom, when each class starts. We will then go over all the questions and answers together. I hope to see you in class! My goal for this class is to educate students in several areas including: Budgeting, Saving, Spending, Investing, & Preparing for College and/or Career. Here is a breakdown of the lessons (subject to change): Day 1 - Introduction to Personal Finance / Saving Your Money / Budgeting Day 2 - Balancing the Check Book / Debt Day 3 - Credit Score / Identity Theft / Credit Cards - Why they are a bad idea / Building Your Cover Letter & Resume Day 4 - Job Interviews & How to answer those important questions / Preparing for College or a Career Due to the interest in this class, I now offer it in 4 different formats: (1) 1-day a week for 4 weeks (2) 2-days a week for 2 weeks (3) 4-days in a row over a week (4) 1-day for 4 hours (broke up with 30 minute breaks & a 1-hour break after the 2nd class) If none of the above schedules work for you, please message me and we can work something out. Or, if you are looking for a 1-on-1 class, let me know and I can create one of those as well. Thank you!

Bachelor's Degree from Liberty University
Hello everyone, my name is Lance Davis and my students call me “Mr. D”. I am happily married and have 3-boys including a set of twins. I have an Associate of Applied Science degree along with a Bachelor of Science degree both in Criminal Justice that I received from Liberty University.
I was a full-time police officer for eighteen years until I decided to pursue my 2nd career of teaching, which I have done the last 8-years now. I didn't go very far from law enforcement as I am still certified and working as the School Resource Officer in the same building as I teach in.
I have several passions other than teaching, which are: (1) Sports ⚾️ 🏈 🏀 and collecting Sports Cards since I was 11-years old, (2) Educating students and adults on financial issues (I received certification as a Certified Financial Master Coach through Ramsey Solutions) and (3) Being outdoors and enjoying family time on our farm.
I have some parents ask me my teaching style and the best way I can explain it is this, I love to be thorough and make sure my students understand what I teach them, I also add humor in my teaching, which in turn almost always gets a positive reaction from my students.
I don’t mean to offend anyone but a couple of my strict policies on Outschool is this: If you sign up for one of my classes and then fail to attend with no warning, or even let me know before class or just after the class, I have a NO REFUND POLICY, so please don't ask to transfer your students to another class 2-weeks later because you forgot or there was an emergency and you just thought about messaging me now. The same goes if you attend any part of my class, then I will not issue a refund because you were there and always have the option to watch the recording. If you aren't going to make it to class and need to transfer to another time, message me and let me know at least 8-hours before class starts and we will work something out. I have been burned too many times before with false excuses and this is time I set aside for a particular class. If you miss a class you signed up for, you are welcome to pay for that class once again, and attend. I really don’t mean for this to sound stern, but unfortunately, for a few, I have to be.
I am blessed to be able to enjoy both of the careers I set out to do at an early age and my hope for you in considering my classes is to learn and enjoy my classes as much as I love to teach them. Thank you for considering one or more of the variety of classes I have to choose from, and as always, if you ever have questions, please feel free to ask. See you in the Classroom :)
