Financial Literacy for teens is a 4 week class in which students will learn the basics of bank accounts, credit cards, student loans, taxes, insurance and the stock market. Week 1: Bank accounts 101 In week one we'll talk all about different types of bank accounts and CD's and how compound interest works. We'll also talk about how checks work and practice writing our own checks. Week 2: Credit Week two is all about credit. We'll discuss how FICO scores are calculated, the ins and outs of credit cards and student loan basics. Week 3: Taxes and insurance In week three your student will learn about the taxes that are taken out of their paychecks and where they go. They'll learn how to read a paycheck and learn the difference between gross pay and net pay. Your student will also learn about car insurance and we'll discuss deductibles, co-pays and premiums. Week 4: The Stock Market Week four might just be my favorite week. Your student will learn all about stocks, bonds and mutual funds. This will be a very interactive class and students are encouraged to participate and ask lot's of questions.

Students will learn the basics of financial literacy, including banking, credit and the stock market.

Parental Guidance
Financial education starts at home. I will be providing some talking points and discussion questions so parents can help their teen continue to learn about financial literacy after the completion of class.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
