Description

Class Experience

Financial Literacy for teens is a 4 week class in which students will learn the basics of bank accounts, credit cards, student loans, taxes, insurance and the stock market. 

Week 1: Bank accounts 101
In week one we'll talk all about different types of bank accounts and CD's and how compound interest works. We'll also talk about how checks work and practice writing our own checks. 

Week 2: Credit 
Week two is all about credit. We'll discuss how FICO scores are calculated, the ins and outs of...

Students will learn the basics of financial literacy, including banking, credit and the stock market.

I have been working in banking and finance my entire career and have spent a great deal of that time helping people understand how to manage their finances and understand the basics of money.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Students and parents will receive a written assessment at the end of the 4 week period which will discuss next steps and areas of focus.

45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.

Financial education starts at home. I will be providing some talking points and discussion questions so parents can help their teen continue to learn about financial literacy after the completion of class.
