Description
Class Experience
How to be financially responsible. The benefits of planning ahead. How to prioritize what we want. The difference between wants and needs. The benefits of creating a financially stable position (saving can be cool). How to talk about money in a healthy manner.
Ms. Rae has been a business owner for over 15 years. Money was not discussed growing up and she had to learn personal financial management as well as business financial management. She has helped family members understand improve their credit history and develop savings plans. Ms. Rae invest in Stocks and ETFs and is actively studying trading.
Students will be asked to track their spending during the course of the class. Additionally, students will keep a class journal. After class students will be asked to create one entry in their journal related to the class discussion.
Each student will be given a Google Drive link in class for their journal entries. Students are not required to purchase any materials. Google Drive and Nearpod links are provided in class. In the event that students have trouble opening Nearpod, the instructor will only use Google Drive. Students do not need to download any programs.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
- Google Drive
- Nearpod
Student responses and engagement in discussions. Student creation of in class financial goal and financial plan.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
