I hold an MFA in Cinema production and I teach at a university film school in Chicago, Il. I have instructed undergraduate as well as graduate students in cinema production, foundations of cinema, editing, and film philosophy. I also own a small educational video production company.
Each class learners will move between Pre-production, Production, and Post-production activities.
Learners will need a digital camera capable of recording video as well as a video editing software or application. They'll also need a sound recording device (small mic) and a volunteer to be their documentary subject. I also recommend each learner have some sort of storage device to hold their footage.
Each submitted assignment will get substantial feedback.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
