Video editing for beginners In this 4 week course, learners will acquire the skills to edit and share their own video projects using iMovie or Filmora9 on a laptop or desktop. Tablets and phones will not suffice for this class. (If other editing software like Premiere Pro or Davinci is used, please contact me for my one-on-one tutorials.) Each class is 75 minutes. Week 1 Importing Footage, Cutting Clips Together and Pacing - Quickly go over the handout - Create a project and import video and still images - Start cutting clips together with an emphasis on pacing Week 2 Transitions, Fades and Titles - Transitions - getting from one clip to the next in a cool way - Fades - how and when to use them - Titles - styles and purpose Week 3 Music and Colour Correction - Using music to create a mood - Balancing the audio - Adjusting color to create a ‘look’ Week 4 Polishing the project, Exporting and Sharing - Put finishing touches on the project. - Export settings for different types of sharing (Insta, FB, etc) - Advanced Class preview: Keyframing Video clips to edit will be provided. I will teach this class using screen sharing. And I’m always available for questions through Outschool’s messaging.
