Figurative Language: Similes & Metaphors
In this one-time 45 minute class, students will become figurative language detectives seeking out similes and metaphors in literature! Students will practice writing their own similes and metaphors to enhance their writing skills.

Description
Class Experience
Students will be able to define the terms "simile" and "metaphor." Students will be able to locate examples of similes and metaphors in a text. Students will be able to write their own stories using figurative language.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
