In this ongoing class we will take a deeper look at each state that makes up The United States of America.

During our time together students will learn fun and unique facts about each state! We will start each class learning about 2 new states. We will locate it on our map (provided below) discuss the abbreviations, learn the state capital, and what each state is known for. Did you know that each state has a state bird? We will learn about each state bird. We will also learn about our neighbor Canada and our country's capital, Washington D.C. Students will have time to share and discuss if they have ever traveled to any of these states. If time allowed we will end each class with a review game. The state schedule is listed below Week1 California and Hawaii. Week 2 Nevada and Illinois Week 3 Indiana and Michigan Week 4 Minnesota and Ohio Week 5 Wisconsin and Delaware. Students will improve their understanding of the United States including the names of the states, their capitals, and where they are located on a map.

Supply List
If you have access to a printer, please print a copy of the map which will be sent out a few days before class starts. If not, a paper and pencil will work just the same. Thanks!
