In this self-paced (flex) course, 5th and 6th graders will learn a comprehensive curriculum, including punctuation, capitalization, singular & plural nouns, pronoun agreement, sentence structure, and verb tenses.

Students will learn how to identify and write coordinating conjunctions (FANBOYS) in sentences.
 Week 2
Lesson 2
Possessive Nouns
Students will learn how to identify and write possessive nouns by adding an apostrophe in the correct location.
 Week 3
Lesson 3
Perfect Verb Tense
Students will learn how to write verbs in the perfect tense to emphasize a completed action.
 Week 4
Lesson 4
Subordinating Conjunction
Students will learn how to identify and write subordinating conjunctions to create complex sentences.
 Week 5
Lesson 5
Plural Nouns
Students will learn how to identify and write plural nouns with -s, -es, -ies, -ves, or irregular changes.
 Week 6
Lesson 6
Simple, Compound, & Complex Sentences
Students will learn how to identify and write simple, compound, and complex sentences with correct comma usage.
 Week 7
Lesson 7
Relative Pronouns
Students will learn how to identify and write relative pronouns (who, whom, whose, which, that) to create relative clauses to describe parts of sentences.
 Week 8
Lesson 8
Commas in Sentences
Students will learn how to use commas in different types of sentences as well as with nonrestrictive or restrictive information.
 Week 9
Lesson 9
Complete, Fragment, & Run-on
Students will learn how to fix sentence fragments and run-ons by transforming them into complete sentences.
 Week 10
Lesson 10
Comparative Adjectives & Adverbs
Students will learn how to identify and write comparative adjectives and adverbs.
 Week 11
Lesson 11
Correlative Conjunctions
Students will learn how to use correlative conjunctions to make connections within a sentence.
 Week 12
Lesson 12
Declarative, Interrogative, Imperative, & Exclamatory Sentences
Students will learn how to identify and write declarative, interrogative, imperative, and exclamatory sentences while using correct ending marks.
Students will practice grammar and sentence structure using interactive activities. 
I have taught grammar through Outschool for the last year. I taught over 3,000 ESL classes online over the last 4 years teaching conversational English and grammar skills. I am a former elementary school teacher. 
Homework Offered
Students will receive 2 printable worksheets and activities for extra practice of the weekly topic.
